Opera Holland Park and ImmerCity Host Immersive Theatre Walk After THE TURN OF THE SCREW, Now thru July 12

Investec Opera Holland Park and ImmerCity present a unique double-bill of opera and immersive theatre as part of OHP's first ever production of a Britten opera, the taut, brilliant The Turn of the Screw. After the opera, an eerie theatrical promenade piece, The Dwindling House of Holland, will explore the tangled history of the Holland family.

The Turn of the Screw night tour, The Dwindling House of Holland, will take place at 10:30pm, Thursday 3rd July - Saturday 12th July. Press Night: Monday 23rd June at the Holland House, Opera Holland Park (enter via Ilchester Place Gate).

Britten's The Turn of the Screw, based on the classic Henry James novella, is a musically brilliant and deeply psychological drama that tells the story of a governess and her two young charges at the bleak, Bly House. The ghosts of the past emerge to wreak havoc and the work is among the greatest British musical stage works ever composed.

After the opera (and a steadying drink), Immercity will take you on an eerie tour through the hauntingly beautiful park itself. Dare to venture down the dark avenues, swallowed by the shadows, as visions from 350 years of history are awakened around you. Expect sinister tales of the dwindling families of Holland Park by the masters of immersive experiences.

ImmerCity was officially founded after its first show Follow the Rabbit in February 2013, which was performed under the name Drunk Tank Productions. Since then, it has had huge success with sell out performances in its home at Babel Studios in Southwark and a tour to the INtransit Festival of Art and the Edinburgh Festival. The company have also worked under another company, Theatre Giant, performing an interactive children's version of Little Red Riding Hood at the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin and The Grand Theatre in Swansea. Now under the leadership of Drunk Tank's original creative core, Clancy Flynn and Rosanna Mallinson, the company is excited to start a new year of immersive extravaganzas.

The company does exclusively immersive theatre, though the creative team also work broadly in theatre, film and literature. Its imaginative environments define the company style, carrying its narratives beyond the performance, with engaging interactive transmedia narratives, such as UFO footage, characters' wedding albums or fake websites. They love realistic details in extraordinary situations.

Opera Holland Park: Opera Holland Park is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed events in the musical calendar and the 18th season includes five new productions in 34 main-stage public performances. The City of London Sinfonia accompanies these productions, enjoying their 11th year as house orchestra. Performances this season include La fanciulla del West by Giacomo Puccini, Il barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini, The Turn of the Screw by Benjamin Britten, Norma by Vincenzo Bellini, Adriana Lecouvreur by Francesco Cilea and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Will Todd.
