The Olivier Award-winning English Touring Opera bring their dramatic productions of Mozart's masterpiece Don Giovanni and Gluck's rarely performed Iphigénie en Tauride to the Lyceum Theatre from Monday 4 - Tuesday 5 April as part of their biggest ever tour.

Mozart's most engrossing opera Don Giovanni (Monday 4 April) is set in turn-of-the-century Vienna: a city of bustling creativity and the home of dangerous tensions which led to the First World War. Whether charmed or repelled by opera's most charismatic antihero, audiences will be thrilled by the magnificent score and chilling conclusion.

Based on the Greek myth, Iphigénie en Tauride (Tuesday 5 April) is an epic thriller set in the aftermath of the Trojan War, where two siblings are at the Gods' mercy. Unaware they are related, one is supposed to kill the other in Gluck's heart-wrenching tale of bravery and sacrifice.

Both operas are sung in full costume, accompanied by ETO's chorus and 25-piece orchestra. Don Giovanni will be sung in English, and Iphigénie en Tauride in French with surtitles.

English Touring Opera perform at the Lyceum Theatre from Monday 4 - Tuesday 5 April. Tickets can be purchased from Sheffield Theatres' Box Office in-person, by phone on 0114 249 6000 or online at sheffieldtheatres.co.uk and are priced from £19.00 - £28.00 (a transaction fee of £1.50 (£1.00 online) applies to all bookings made at the Box Office, excluding cash). Concession and group discounts are available.
