The Old Red Lion Theatre has announced its spring season, which includes four new plays.

The season opens with not one, but two productions running side-by-side: Rattled written and performed by Rachel Harper, and In Search of Applause written and performed by Maroussia Vladi.

Rattled is a witty examination of mental health, self-preservation and human resilience. As well as tackling the subject of postnatal depression during the play, Production Company Missmanaged Theatre are partnering with childcare agency Bea & Co to offer free childcare to those attending Sunday matinees and at-home discounted childcare to audience members attending evening performances.

Following each performance of Rattled, Keep It Moving Theatre present In Search of Applause, a new romantic comedy in the form of a one woman play that explores the human propensity to search for validation from the world around us for the rational decisions we've made.

Fresh off the success of Tom Ratcliffe's hit play Velvet, work.Theatre present the London premiere of Ratcliffe's debut play Circa. Following one man's romantic life, Circa asks what does it mean to be in a gay relationship in the modern age? And why are so many gay men still lonely?

Finishing off the season is a mother and daughter collaboration between TS Eliot Award Shortlisted poet and playwright Jacqueline Saphra and director-dramaturg Tamar Saphra: The Noises is a visceral new play about fear, courage, the nature of violence and the power of emotional connection-written entirely from the perspective of a dog. All performances of The Noises will incorporate open integrated audio description, making it fully accessible to visually impaired audience members without the use of headphones.

Artistic Director of the Old Red Lion Theatre, Katy Danbury, says: "I am thrilled to present all of these extraordinary artists to you this spring, each with vital and relevant stories to tell. My hope is that our audiences will not only leave inspired, but will also find this to be our most accessible season yet, where parents can find easier access to childcare while they enjoy a day or night out at the theatre, and visually impaired theatre-goers can enjoy the ORL in our most experiential show to date. I would be delighted if this helps to start a conversation about how to better accommodate and engage audiences of all different circumstances and abilities."
