Staff at Didcot Railway Centre were finally able to see 'Freddie Mercury' alongside the Locomotive used in Queen's video for 'Breakthru', ahead of One Night of Queen performed by Gary Mullen and the Works at New Theatre Oxford on September 15.

In the late 80s, Queen filmed the music video for 'Breakthru' at the Nene Valley Railway near Peterborough. At the time, one of Didcot Railway Centre's locomotives was on hire to them. The locomotive 3822 was repainted for the video and renamed "The Miracle Express". Prior to its return to Didcot, the locomotive was returned to its original state.

Roger Orchard, Railway Centre Manager at Didcot Railway Centre said: "We've been looking forward to welcoming Gary Mullen to Didcot Railway Centre. As the video for Queen's song Breakthru took place at Nene Valley Railway, the staff here didn't get to meet Queen in 1989. As such, we're very excited to see Gary's Freddie with the Locomotive used in the video."

In 2000, Gary Mullen won ITV's "Stars In Their Eyes" Live Grand Final, with the largest number of votes ever received in the shows history. The record of 864,838 votes was more than twice that of the runner-up. Gary began touring on his own and in 2002 formed a band The Works, to pay tribute to rock legends Queen.

Gary Mullen said: "The band and myself are really looking forward to returning to Oxford New Theatre. It's one of our tour favourites, always with a fantastic audience response. As a huge Queen fan, I've also been looking forward to visiting Didcot Railway Centre, home of 'The Miracle Express'."

Gary Mullen and the Works have performed throughout the UK, USA, Europe, South Africa and New Zealand to sell-out audiences. The outfit have also twice rocked the prestigious BBC Proms in the Park, in front of a very enthusiastic crowd of 40,000. One Night of Queen performed by Gary Mullen and the Works is a spectacular live concert, recreating the look, sound, pomp and showmanship of arguably the greatest rock band of all time. This show will ROCK you when it comes to Oxford's New Theatre on September 15.
