From the spectacle of The Sound of Music to the silliness of Spamalot - Belgrade Theatre Coventry announce their new season.
Public booking for Belgrade Theatre, Coventry's new season is now on sale with an exciting mix of classic musicals, fun family shows and laugh-out-loud comedy.
As the sparkle of this year's pantomime, Cinderella comes to an end on Saturday 13 January, the theatre welcomes one of the greatest musicals of all time as The Sound of Music (6-10 Feb) takes to the stage in a lavish new production starring The Voice finalist, Lucy O'Byrne as Maria and Neil McDermott as Captain Von Trapp.
Later that month the theatre welcomes the brand-new musical, Son of a Preacher Man (13-17 Feb) featuring the unforgettable music of Dusty Springfield and a cast including Debra Stephenson and Alice Barlow directed by Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood.
Another wonderfully silly and delightfully family-friendly tale from David Walliams comes to the stage with a new production of Awful Auntie (20-24 Feb) whilst Monty Python's Spamalot (27 Feb-3 Mar) brings plenty of silliness for the adults with a script and songs lovingly ripped off from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Two productions come direct from the West End as Thriller Live (6-10 Mar) brings all the timeless hits of Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 in a spectacular production of music and dance plus the hit comedy, The Play That Goes Wrong (19-24 Mar) returns by phenomenal demand.
Other upcoming highlights include a stunning new version of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations (2-5 May) starring Olivier Award winning actress, Nichola McAuliffe, Horrible Histories returns with More Best of Barmy Britain (30 May-2 Jun), a brand-new production of Scottish musical Sunshine on Leith (5-9 Jun) and musicals Flashdance (4-8 Sep) and Evita (25-29 Sep).
As previously announced, Nativity! The Musical (23-28 Oct) will come home to Coventry as it opens a brand-new nationwide tour for 2018.
Booking for the new season is now open online at www.belgrade.co.uk and over the telephone on 024 7655 3055.
