Culture Warrington is announcing a brand new initiative to help sustain its valuable work in the community.
The Culture Warrington Lotto Superdraw is a fantastic new enterprise that encourages people to support a charity they are passionate about, whilst also getting the chance to win some major prizes.
Just by paying a little over £1 a week, you can get the chance to win up to £1,000 and also make a difference to the work carried out across communities in Warrington.
Culture Warrington is a charitable trust that was established in May 2012 to deliver culture, arts, heritage, entertainments and events across the borough.
The charity runs three key cultural venues in the town: Pyramid & Parr Hall, Warrington Museum & Art Gallery, and the Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival, offering many opportunities to indulge in arts, culture, health and wellbeing.
Warrington Museum & Art Gallery offers people a unique opportunity to explore thousands of years of local history for free, in addition to enjoying exquisite pieces of historic and contemporary art.
The museum also hosts regular workshops and classes for people of all ages, inspiring new generations to develop skills and embrace their creativity.
Donations received via the new Lotto Superdraw will support this work by buying much-needed materials and services to help preserve our remarkable artefacts and continue our work with the next generation.
For example, just £10 will buy enough materials to deliver a free craft session with families, or buy enough acid-free tissue paper to wrap 100 valuable objects. In addition, £20 will buy enough paints and brushes to deliver a free art class, whilst £30 gives us 30 minutes of a conservator's time to clean a painting, repair a frame, or fix a piece of taxidermy.
Andrea Morley, fundraising and sponsorship officer, is delighted to introduce the scheme.
She said: "We're really thrilled to be launching this new initiative that not only gives people the chance to win fantastic cash prizes, but also helps us make a real impact in the community.
"Our classes, events, workshops and exhibitions are always a hit with local residents, so this financial support will help us continue this work for years to come.
"We would also like to say a special thanks to Everton in the Community, who have supported us throughout the process."
For each £1 that is received, 60 pence will be donated straight to Culture Warrington Charitable Trust, 25 pence goes towards winners' prizes, and the remaining 15 pence is spent on administration costs.
In comparison, The National Lottery spends just 28% of income on good causes, while The Postcode Lottery spends 32%.
