A new theatrical general management company has launched this month with news of its first touring show; John Osborne's The Entertainer, starring Shane Richie and directed by Sean O'Connor. The Entertainer will open week commencing August 26th at Leicester Curve and finish the tour in Shrewsbury on 23rd November 2019.

At the helm of LIVE General Management (Live GM) are Managing Director Tara Finney and Executive Directors Mark Perry and Freddie Ryecart. Live GM is a joint venture between Anthology Theatre, a subsidiary of the Anthology group, and Sightline Entertainment.

LIVE GM offers a personalised and cost-effective service to producers working on a national and international scale. Live GM will offer services including, booking and managing national and international tours, budgeting, recruitment and contract negotiations, investors relations, press and marketing campaigns, accounting, oversee production management and provide administrative support.

Prior to taking the role of Managing Director for Live GM, Finney worked independently as a producer and general manager and also as in-house producer for Stephen Joseph Theatre, Iris Theatre, Company of Angels and trained at Theatre503. Before working in theatre, she qualified as a corporate lawyer.

Finney explained, "What's needed to make projects successful, both commercially and critically, is a clear understanding of the artistic ambition and vision of each individual producer. Blood, sweat and tears are poured into shows from all departments and I know that we, as general managers, must be as passionate about a show as the producers themselves. That way when we commit to a project, the producer can rest assured that their baby is in safe hands."

Mark Perry added, "We're delighted with the response we've had from producers so far. We wanted to offer something slightly different from what's out there already in the General Management world. We recognize that producers are always short of time and desperately need to keep costs down. Our service is deliberately set up to help with both of those things. We flex the way we work to either take on direct responsibility for aspects of the production, or fit in seamlessly with the infrastructure the producer has in place. We have a unique business model with our fees being structured so that we can take some of the risk with the producer. It's a bit different but it seems to be working."
