The Yard Theatre announces the return of smash-hit This Beautiful Future in November following a sell-out, critically-acclaimed premiere run earlier this year. Written by Rita Kalnejais and directed by The Yard's Artistic Director Jay Miller, it follows one night between two teenagers, caught on opposite sides, in the middle of a war.
The Yard will welcome Abigail Lawrie (The Casual Vacancy, HBO/BBC and currently starring in Tin Star, Sky Atlantic) and Tom Morley (The Musketeers, BBC1) into the lead roles. Alwyne Taylor (Flowers in the Forest, Jermyn Street Theatre) and Paul Haley (The One Day of the Year, Finborough) will reprise their roles to complete the cast.
Described by audiences as "the show of the year" and "everything a theatre experience should be", This Beautiful Future is the The Yard's most successful show to date and the first time the theatre has ever brought a show back.
The Yard's Artistic Director Jay Miller:
"This Beautiful Future connected with audiences in a way I could never have predicted, and I am thrilled to be able to show it to even more people. I cannot wait to explore this heartbreaking and sensuous show for the second time with two new young and brilliant actors. In the current climate of a sharpening of contemporary politics both in the UK and abroad, This Beautiful Future speaks to tenderness in a time of violence. It has always felt like the show of 2017."
