Top bands from across the area are gearing up for the ultimate celebration of local music, with two announcements to be made.
Independent Venue Week is just around the corner, and this year Warrington's Parr Hall will be joining in the fun with a fantastic line-up of local talent.
The latest band to be announced is the newly-named Big Sky (formerly The Tamalas), who will be performing for the very first time under their new name.
Excited to bring a host of new material to the Parr Hall stage for Independent Venue Week, Big Sky band member Jon Lord said: "We're really excited to be playing the Parr Hall on Saturday 3 February as part of Independent Venue Week.
"We've been working on new songs for the past six months, putting to bed some of our older material and working harder on the direction that feels more natural for us. With that we thought a rebrand was better suited - hence the new name!
"This will be our first show since playing the Isle of Wight Festival as The Tamalas, so we can't wait to try out our new set on a home crowd."
Headlining the event are Man and the Echo, who have gained industry recognition through touring with popular bands such as The Strypes and the Rifles, and playing live on BBC Radio 6 Music with Steve Lamacq.
Joining Man and the Echo is a handful of the area's most talked-about talents: Pacific, Delphina Kings, Weekend Wars, The Ambersons, and the newly-named Big Sky.
As the leading venue in the area, Parr Hall has welcomed some iconic bands onto its stage over the years and is widely recognised as a symbol of success for aspiring local artists.
Lead singer of Delphina Kings Chris Gibson said: "We're excited to play this show for so many reasons. Supporting independent venues is something we're really passionate about, and the Parr Hall is particularly close to our hearts - we used to play under 18s nights there as teenagers. It's where we learned to be a band!"
Adding to the excitement of performing at Parr Hall, Delphina Kings are also delighted to introduce their fans to a new face.
Chris said: "We're also buzzing to welcome new guitarist Charlie aboard - he'll be making his first ever appearance with us at the Parr Hall show!"
Supported by Arts Council England, Independent Venue Week is a seven day celebration of small venues across the UK that champion local talent and give up-and-coming artists the opportunity to play live in front of their fans.
Chloe Ward, Independent Venue Week's UK Director, said: "We have loved working with each ambassador, especially hearing all about their different experiences of playing and visiting these special spaces. Their different stories have really highlighted the importance and unique nature of the venues in the UK and have really shown what fun it is to go to gigs."
