National Theatre Wales Receives Live and Online Launch, 11/5

National Theatre Wales will announce its first year of work at a press conference in Cardiff with a digital multimedia presentation which will include live video link-ups to key locations around Wales on Thursday, November 5 2009, 12:30 GMT.  The live launch will take place at 30 Castle Arcade, Cardiff.  This event marks the first time a theatre company will launch simultaneously online and live.

The whole event will be streamed live online, and broadcast via www.nationaltheatrewales.org. It will be the first time a New Theatre Company has been launched simultaneously live and online.

The launch will feature live link-ups to the top of Mount Snowdon, to Radio Cardiff (a community radio station in Butetown, Cardiff) to a teenager's bedroom, and to an online chatroom, where some of the collaborating artists will discuss their upcoming work.

National Theatre Wales' first ‘launch' year of work is an attempt to theatrically map Wales. One show per month, each month (plus an additional finale) will take place in locations across the country, bringing the very best of Welsh writing, performing and directing together with world class artists and world class ideas from all over the world.

National Theatre Wales is a company without a specific home. It aims to take theatre to all parts of Wales and to make theatre about all parts of Wales Its core values are to be Engaged, Innovative, and International.
