Morphic Graffiti has announced that Tim Walton will be playing the title role in the forthcoming production of The Revenge of Sherlock Holmes! at the renowned Hoxton Hall. Tim is a leading West End actor with credits that include Matilda, Love Never Dies, Wicked and most recently Kiss Me Kate at the Old Vic.
Joining the Great Detective will be John Cusworth (Mamma Mia, Blood Brothers) as his sidekick Dr. Watson, Amanda Goldthorpe-Hall (The Phantom of the Opera, The Sound of Music) as the villainous Mrs Moriarty, Leonie Heath (Scrooge, Babes in Arms) as Bella Spellgrove, Andrea Miller (Jekyll and Hyde, Gays the Word) as the ill-suffering Mrs Hudson and Stephen Leask (The Secret Garden, Potted Panto) as Inspector Lestrade.
The cast also includes Benjamin Bond (Mamma Mia), Melanie Brown (Jesus Christ Superstar), Rachel Ensor (Cats, Dirty Dancing), Nicola Martin (Boy Meets Boy), Adam Pendrich (Jubilee) and Ryan Pidgen (Billy Elliot, Lend Me a Tenor).
Morphic Graffiti's production will be staged in the authentic Music Hall setting of Hoxton Hall which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. Audiences will find themselves stepping back in time as this historic venue is brought back to its former life in a colourful and vibrant tribute to the Victorian era's greatest living detective. With comedy, magical illusions, puppets, and "More Victoriana than even Prince Albert could handle", Sherlock Holmes finds himself embroiled in an all-new mystery that will push even him to breaking point!
The production team includes Luke Fredericks (Director), Huw Evans (Musical Director), Stewart Charlesworth (Set & Costume Designer), Lee Proud (Choreographer) and Michael England (Orchestrator). Illusions are by Thomas Moore with puppets by Billie Achilleos.
Academy Award winning writer/composer Leslie Bricusse has worked with Morphic Graffiti to present this unique 2013 production of The Revenge of Sherlock Holmes! The show will feature brand new songs and material, never before heard. As one of the leading Musical writers of the last fifty years, Bricusse's career continues to transcend across stage and screen, with an incredible catalogue of credits that include Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Victor Victoria, Dr. Doolittle, Scrooge and Jekyll and Hyde.
Morphic Graffiti's inaugural production of Jekyll and Hyde at the Union Theatre in May 2012 received rave reviews and a sell out run. The 'stunning revival' made the The Stage Newspaper's 'Capital Highlights' of 2012.
Opens Wednesday 10th April and will run until Friday 10th May 2013. Performances take place Wednesday to Saturday evenings at 7.30pm, Saturday matinees at 3pm and Sundays at 2pm and 6pm.
