Following the Wyvern Theatre's previous announcement that Cbeebies' Chris Jarvis will play the lovable Muddles in their Pantomime this Christmas, it has now been confirmed that actress Michelle Collins will star alongside him as the evil Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty from Saturday 7 December. The first time the title has been performed at the Wyvern Theatre in ten years.
Michelle is best known for her roles in EastEnders and Coronation Street, while other notable roles include the BBC drama Real Women, Sunburn and Two Thousand Acres of Sky. In EastEnders Michelle played Cindy Beale, wife of previous-Wyvern panto star Adam Woodyatt's character Ian Beale.
With over 10,000 seats already snapped up, the Wyvern is set to produce another record-breaking pantomime, following sell-out runs of Aladdin in 2018, Peter Pan in 2017 and Cinderella in 2016.
Wyvern Theatre Marketing and Sales Manager Laura James said "Everyone here is really thrilled that Michelle will be joining us for this year's fun packed pantomime, an actress with her talent and profile is sure to make this our fastest selling ever, and with Chris Jarvis also in the team, Sleeping Beauty promises to be spectacular family entertainment"
Daryl Back, Executive Producer of Sleeping Beauty and the annual Wyvern pantomime said: "I am absolutely delighted and very excited to be working with Michelle once again. She will make the most formidable Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty and I know both Michelle and Chris will love performing in Swindon."
Packed with all of the traditional pantomime ingredients Swindon audiences have come to expect, Sleeping Beauty will be spectacularly brought to life with an abundance of dance, side-splitting comedy, sensational song and plenty of festive fun.
