The Worshipful The Mayor of Wandsworth Councillor Richard Field will appear in performances of Bollywood Jack on Monday 12, Friday 16, Monday 19, Friday 30 December and 7 January.

Based on the much loved fairy tale of Jack and The Beanstalk combined with the poems of Rudyard Kipling, Bollywood Jack promises to be a unique pantomime experience for all the family, as East meets West with glittering costumes, a side-splitting dame and songs that will have everyone dancing in the aisles.

"It really is an honour to be taking playing a role in Bollywood Jack alongside such a superb professional cast and I want to thank Tara Arts for putting so much faith in me. This exceptional theatre company is a jewel in Wandsworth's cultural crown and there is nowhere else like it in London." Says Cllr Richard Field. "I'm looking forward to opening night and I believe I'll be the first Mayor of Wandsworth to walk the boards while on official mayoral duty. If the performances are half as fun as the reversals, we'll all be in for great night."

Speaking about the mayor's panto debut, Tara Theatre's Director Jatinder Verma said: "I am delighted that His Worshipful the Mayor of Wandsworth took up my invitation to be part of our first panto in the new Tara Theatre. Cllr Richard Field's enthusiasm has been infectious throughout rehearsals and I'm convinced his cameo appearance will prove a jewel in the crown of our Christmas show - and provide audiences a fun-filled chance to get up close and personal with our Mayor!"

Hot on the heels of sell-out smash hit successes Bollywood Cinderella and Dick Whittington Goes Bollywood, comes Bollywood Jack. Tara have conjured up another Christmas treat with their traditional Bollywood spin, to enjoy in the brand-new Theatre.

Tara are connecting the worlds of East and West with gusto for all the family this Christmas in London's newest theatre - only 10 minutes from Waterloo.
