The enchanting smash-hit Rogers and Hammerstein musical sensation South Pacific comes to the Lyceum Theatre for two weeks this summer from tonight, 24 July – Saturday 4 August.

Sweeping the board at the Tony Awards, South Pacific played for two years on Broadway and was televised across America. It comes to Sheffield as part of a new UK tour, following sell-out performances at London's Barbican.

Metropolitan Opera Director and Winner of the Tony Award for Best Director, Bartlett Sher directs a stellar cast of forty and live orchestra of eighteen in this breathtaking production. Title roles include British musical theatre stars Matthew Cammelle (Phantom of the Opera) as Emile de Becque and Rebecca Thornhill (Singin' In The Rain at The National Theatre) as Nellie Forbush, alongside the star of the first National US Tour, Jodi Kimura, who is returning to the role of Bloody Mary.

Set on a tropical island during World War II, this is the romantic story of two couples, threatened by the realities of war and by their own prejudices. Considered one of the finest musicals ever written, the score includes Some Enchanting Evening, I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair, Happy Talk and There is Nothin' Like a Dame.

Tickets can be purchased from Sheffield Theatres' Box Office in-person, by phone on 0114 249 6000 or online at sheffieldtheatres.co.uk and are priced from £25.00 - £42.00, with discounts available.
