In the week that Marlowe Youth Theatre members perform on a top London stage, a local businessman has stepped in as a benefactor.
Canterbury property developer Paul Roberts has agreed a three-year deal to support the theatre's various classes for young people. He said: "I am delighted to be involved like this because I truly believe that acting gives young people a lot of confidence and the skills that will take them far in life"
On Friday (30 June), 24 Marlowe Youth Theatre members aged between 14 and 20 will perform The Monstrum at the prestigious National Theatre (NT). They were chosen to appear at the theatre as part of the NT Connections Festival.
Paul Ainsworth, The Marlowe's Creative Engagement Manager and The Monstrum Director, said everyone was "beyond excited" to have been selected, adding: "It's a great time for Paul to come on board and I am sure his support will enable us to fly even higher!"
