Mark Evans Returns Home With WEST END IN WALES Musical Theater Summer School

West End performer and finalist of BBC Television's Eurovision - Your Country Needs You, Mark Evans will return to his birth place this Summer to bring a touch of West End theatre glamour in the form of his summer school - West End in Wales.

West End in Wales is a musical theatre summer school at Theatr Elwy (St Asaph, Denbighshire) for teenagers between the ages of 10 to 17. The six day workshop, between August 17 th to 22 nd , trains participants in areas of singing, dancing and acting ending with a final show at the end of the week for invited guests.

Founded in 2006 West End in Wales gives a unique opportunity for teenagers to workalongside West End professionals currently starring in some of London's top rated shows.This year the school welcomes guest teachers Sally O'Brien (Mamma Mia) and RichardReynard (Blood Brothers, Cats, Chicago and The Witches of Eastwick) along with Mark Evans (Troy Bolton in High School Musical, Wicked, Spamalot, Chess and the BBC Television seriesEurovision - Your Country Needs You).

Born and raised on a typical Welsh farm in Llanrhaeadr in Denbighshire, North Wales, Evans grew up with a passion for performing. Leaving home at the age of 16 Evans headed for London to train professionally and has now turned his hobby into a very successful theatrecareer. Last year Evans played the lead role of Troy Bolton in the Disney stage show High School Musical before auditioned for the television series Eurovision - Your Country Needs You.

Presented by Graham Norton and Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber the series auditionedhundreds of hopefuls in a bid to find a singer who would represent the UK in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow. After singing for Lord Lloyd Webber Evans was selectedto enter the contest and over the course of the series he performed live to the nation every Saturday evening. Winning the weekly public phone vote Evans made it through to the finalshow and was the only male singer to do so. He still remains in contact with Lord LloydWebber and details of Mark's next West End show will be released towards the end of this year.
