An immersive theatrical experience telling the untold stories of 5 very different women called Alice through music, drama and spoken word.
Madhatter and White Rabbit will lead you through our tale of 5 Alices from history.
"Five Alices lived
Five Alices died
Come see how they hang By a white rabbit's whisker."
Alice 1 is Alice Young. She was one of the first to be hung as a witch in Salem, America.
Alice 2 is Alice Liddell, the story book child, the real person behind Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.
Alice 3 is Alice Herz, a Jewish immigrant who set herself on fire at the age of 82 on the corner of a street in Detroit in protest at the Vietnam war.
Alice 4 is Alice B. Toklas, a famous lesbian and partner to Gertrude Stein. They were part of the avant-garde in Paris.
Alice 5 is Alice Orlowski, a concentration camp guard who was tried for war crimes.
By bringing these women back from the past to speak with us directly - surprisingly, we are learning about our own times as we stand on the precipice looking into our future.
