The Magic Paintbrush, on Saturday 14 January, is an energetic, surprising and funny show for children, set to a quirky urban soundtrack. In a grey, colourless world, a brave young heroine paints her world into a brighter place.

The Vanishing Man (Friday 20 January) is a magic show, but not a show about magic. Hugo Cedar was an Edwardian magician known as The Vanishing Man; he created the perfect trick and then disappeared forever, but his story lives on.

The work of two exciting talents will be premiered at The Marlowe Studio from Tuesday 24 to Saturday 28 January (excluding Thursday 26 January).

A man. A fox. A neon-soaked showdown: Run The Beast Down is playwright Titas Halder's debut full-length production and opens in Canterbury before transferring to London's Finborough Theatre. It will be directed by award-winning Hannah Price, founder of Theatre Uncut and director of several critically-acclaimed plays, and produced by The Marlowe Theatre and Libby Brodie Productions.

An exhilarating theatrical journey performed with a live electronic score, Run The Beast Down is a boundary-pushing hybrid piece of theatre and music, combining elements of storytelling, dark comedy and magical realism with a pulsing soundtrack from local DJ ANoR. Casting will be announced early in the new year.

Charlie has stopped sleeping. His neighbour's cat has been dismembered. And worse, he's being haunted by an urban fox. In a haze of neon-soaked insomnia lines blur between reality and fantasy. What are they up to? Whatever it is, it's big. The mystery twists its way towards a dead rabbit, a city in flames and a Kendall mint cake-fuelled murderous showdown.

This Made By The Marlowe production has been made possible with funding from The Marlowe Theatre Development Trust.

Comedian Lee Nelson's show on Thursday 26 January has sold out.
