The Lyric Hammersmith aims to produce work that is provoking, entertaining, popular, eclectic, messy, contradictory and diverse.

Aladdin
by Joel Horwood, Morgan Lloyd Malcolm & Steve Marmion

Following the success of Dick Whittington & His Cat and Jack & the Beanstalk, writers Joel Horwood and Morgan Lloyd Malcolm are reunited with Soho Theatre Artistic Director Steve Marmion for Aladdin. With a flying carpet, a magic lamp, a monkey and, of course, Widow Twankey, the pantomime will be a festive experience for the whole family.

Back by popular demand for a second outing at the Lyric, Shaun Prendergast plays the dame in this year's pantomime, and is joined by Steven Webb (The Inbetweeners, E4) and Simon Kunz (Mongrel Island, Soho). Aladdin is played by Hammed Animashaun, last seen at the Lyric in Matthew Dunster's production of Mogadishu, with Dominique Moore (Horrible Histories,CBBC) as Princess Karen and Sophia Nomvete (England People Very Nice, NT) as the Spirit of the Ring. The cast will be joined by an ensemble of actors from the LyRic Young Company.

A PINS AND NEEDLES AND LYRIC HAMMERSMITH PRODUCTION
Holly and Ivan's Christmas Adventure
by Oliver Lansley

Written by Les Enfants Terribles co-founder Oliver Lansley (The Terrible Infants, Les Enfants Terribles; Whites, BBC 2) and based on an original idea by Pins and Needles, the show is a magical tale of two brave little toys who fall off the back of Santa's Sleigh on Christmas Eve. Not wanting their new owners to wake up to no presents, they set off on an epic journey to find them.

Following the sell-out success of The Elves and the Shoemakers at the Tobacco Factory, Bristol, director Emma Earle and designer Zoe Squire bring their trademark enchanting theatricality to the Lyric, using puppetry and music to create a joyful festive adventure.
