This June the Lyric Hammersmith is taking over Lyric Square to present a month of exciting and innovative work in the open air. Commissioned by Business Improvement District HammersmithLondon, the Lyric has invited four companies to present original work in Lyric Square; Tangled Feet, praised for their physically vibrant and thought provoking work; the anarchic comedic troop Spymonkey; the inventive and imaginative Slung Low and the award-winning Les Enfants Terribles. Alongside the work by the companies, the theatre will host an open-mic poetry event every Friday night in the HammersmithLondon Roof garden at the Lyric, giving aspiring spoken-word artists an opportunity to showcase their talent.

The Hide Created by Tangled Feet

Tuesday 07 - Thursday 09 June

David Attenborough said ‘the natural world is the greatest source of excitement'. Everyone loves watching other people. There are an infinite amount of stories in the everyday; theatrical moments of happiness. But do we see all the stories? Step inside The Hide, a new purpose built addition to the square and gaze across humanity in its natural environment. You might see something to inspire you.

The Morris Dancers Created by Spymonkey

Tuesday 14 - Thursday 16 June

Spymonkey's Toby Park and Petra Massey present their own husband and wife Morris Dancing extravaganza complete with songs, sticks and dancing cow. Spymonkey's award-winning brand of comedy is overflowing with brilliant characters, outrageous naughtiness and a delightful lack of respect for theatrical convention.
The Knowledge Emporium Created by Slung Low

Monday 20 - Thursday 23 June

Slung Low invites the people of Hammersmith to The Knowledge Emporium. Based in an old fashioned sweetshop in a converted 1950s airstream caravan; the Emporium knowledge for sweets. Through the week, people are invited to The Emporium to share their knowledge, a fascinating fact, a family recipe - absolutely anything - in return for sweets. On Thursday at 3pm, Slung Low will perform readings from The Book of Everything We Know based on the knowledge generously shared by the sweet-lovers of Hammersmith. Originally commissioned by The Gate Theatre

Winter's Ball Created by Les Enfants Terribles

Tuesday 28 - Thursday 30 June

Les Enfants invite you to party in their winter wonderland. Presided over by the terrifying Snow Queen, prepare to enter into a weird and wonderful world full of Grimm tales, poisoned apples, snow capped branches and Turkish delight. Dedicated to creating original, innovative and exciting theatre Les Enfants will challenge, inspire and entertain.
