Lyric Hammersmith Appoints New Board Members

The Lyric Hammersmith's Board of Directors has appointed four new trustees Sade Brown, Liz Elston Mayhew, Julie Molloy and David Sharkey and following local elections this year welcomes three new LBHF councillors, Cllr Jonathan Caleb-Landy, Cllr Bora Kwon and Cllr Patricia Quigley.

They join existing board members Lisa Burger (chair), Janet Ellis, Cllr Sue Fennimore, Ashley Herman and Kamran Mallick.

The new trustees will work closely with the Lyric's Chair Lisa Burger, Artistic Director Sean Holmes and Executive Director Sian Alexander in achieving the organisation's mission to produce the highest quality contemporary theatre, alongside nurturing the creativity of young people.

Lisa Burger, Chair of the Lyric Hammersmith said, 'I'm delighted to welcome our new trustees to the board of the Lyric Hammersmith. They bring a wide breadth of skills in fundraising, finance, commercial enterprise, talent development and diversity and have a shared passion for the Lyric. I'm very proud that our board is rooted in the Lyric's local community, reflecting and representing the society the theatre serves.'

Sade Brown is the founder of Sour Lemons, an organisation set up to offer bespoke consultancy services for creative organisations that want to increase their diversity and create more pathways to leadership. She grew up in the Hammersmith area.

Cllr Jonathan Caleb-Landy is a councillor for Ravenscourt Park and deputy whip for Hammersmith and Fulham Council. He works for leading conservation charity WWF and learning disability charity Mencap. Jonathan is also trustee for Hammersmith and Fulham Mencap since 2016.

Cllr Bora Kwon is a councillor for Ravenscourt Park. Bora is the also the Head of Editorial for the news app Upday UK. She was the first British Korean councillor to be elected in the UK.

Liz Elston Mayhew has been a key member of the Lyric's Development Committee since 2010 and has been a strong advocate of our work with young people. Liz is also Vice Chair of the charity Build It International which works in Zambia. Liz has worked and lived in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham for 30 years.

Julie Molloy is the Managing Director of The National Gallery Company Ltd. Julie Held previous roles in arts and business at the Royal Academy, The Royal Collection and C&A UK. She is a Non-Executive Director of The Association for Cultural Enterprises and a lecturer at Sotheby's Institute of Art.

Cllr Patricia Quigley was elected in May 2018 and is a councillor for Hammersmith Broadway Ward and is also Assistant to Cabinet. She is part of the LBHF Disabled People's Commission.

David Sharkey is the Chief Operating Officer of the University of Surrey having joined 12 years ago as the Finance Director. He previously worked in London in the retail sector having qualified as an accountant with PWC.
