Organisers of next week's Catacombs of St Georges Hall Liverpool Tours have announced the tours have been re-scheduled to April due to unforeseen circumstances.

Gangs of Victorian Liverpool, the next instalment from the promenade theatre tours from Lovehistory will now take place from Monday 3 - Saturday 8 April, and all tickets purchased for the February dates will be valid for the new performances.

Anyone who has purchased a ticket for tours between 20 - 25 Feb can contact TicketQuarter to select an alternative performance from the new dates.

The re-scheduled tours will feature new stories, uncovering the tales of past criminals who were hanged for their crimes, those who were judged and sentenced by law, and those who carried out the sentence of the court - the executioner.

New stories will include the horrific 1874 murder of Richard Morgan, known as the Tithebarn Street Outrage, the heinous attack of a Spanish sailor in 1884's Blackstone Street Murder. The tours will shine a light on the rivalry between the notorious High Rip gang and the Logwood gang, then learn all about the business of grave robbing as Lovehistory unearth the details of the Resurrection Men.

Judy McLean, Creative Director of Lovehistory, said: "We apologise to those who purchased tickets for next week's performances and for any inconvenience, but want to ensure customers that their tickets will be valid for the new dates, and look forward to everyone seeing the new stories in the next instalment in April."

The promenade performances will take you into the dark cells below the grandness of the Great Hall, where those waiting to be condemned would spend their final moments. In the dark shadows of Liverpool's history, visitors will encounter characters telling their tormented tales. Behind every dark corner lies a hidden story which has not been heard for over 100 years.
