The 2017 London Jam and the 10th Annual 

50-hour Improvathon


Anything could happen!


This January at Wilton's even the performers don't know what they are going to be performing!


The London Jam features the cream of homegrown improv talent including: Chortle Award-winning Austentatious: An Improvised Jane Austen Novel; songs and sketches from The Glenda J Collective starring improv giants Josie Lawrence, Ruth Bratt, Pippa Evans and Cariad Lloyd; Lights! Camera! Improvise! from Olivier Award-winners Mischief Theatre (The Play That Goes Wrong); plus, world class improv from The Sufferettes (Canada), Almost Ibsen (Norway) and the European premiere of Improvised Dungeons And Dragons (Canada). Also featuring the all-new Ken Campbell Caper Competition - an 'improvbattle' starring performers from all over the globe, originally conceived by legendary maverick theatre genius Ken Campbell. The London Jam also includes improv workshops for professionals and public alike. Hone your skills with our international guests or find out how a little improv in your world can enhance your day to day (see right for more details).

         

The week culminates in the 10th Annual London 50-Hour Improvathon. Tolkien meets GEORGE RR MARTIN in this year's hilarious improvised comedy soap opera: Lord of Thrones! Kicking off at 7pm on Friday 20 January and running right through to 9pm on Sunday 22 January with the next episode starting every two hours.


Join us for one or two episodes, or indeed the lot! And don't forget there's a family episode for all ages at 11am on Sunday 22nd

Workshops are running throughout The 2017 London Jam.



Improv your Life with Pippa Evans of The Showstoppers explores how you can use improv skills in everyday situations to enhance your day-to-day.


Connection, Play and Experiment with Becky Johnson of The Sufferettes is for experienced improvisers looking to take their skills to a new level of play.


An Introduction to Improvised Musical Theatre - Andrew Pugsley and Duncan Walsh Atkins of The Showstoppers teach the basics of their craft; designed for experienced improvisers and/or confident performers.

Macabre, witty and oddly beautiful, The Depraved Appetite of Tarrare the Freak is a unique and affecting show from one of the country's most distinctive and talented new puppetry companies. Based on the true story of Tarrare the Freak, an 18th century French revolutionary spy with an insatiable appetite for live cats, snakes, and the occasional amputated limb.

Burt Bacharach's incredible music and Hal David's brilliant lyrics come together with a book by legendary playwright Neil Simon in Promises, Promises - the hit Broadway musical based on the Billy Wilder film The Apartment. This Tony Award Nominated, Grammy Award Winning musical is a triumph of 1960s sexual work-place politics, with a quick witted script and unforgettable songs.
