Liverpool Loves organisers have revealed the first wave of musical talent in an impressive line-up which will entertain festival goers next month, with further headline acts still to be announced.
The festival was officially launched this morning at Hilton Liverpool ahead of Liverpool Loves Business, the one-day event aimed at entrepreneurs and SME.
Delegates were welcomed by Festival Director Josh Boyd who provided an exciting overview of what to expect from this year's Liverpool Loves. The Lord Mayor of Liverpool Cllr Malcolm Kennedy then provided the opening speech, before Liverpool Loves Business's full programme of seminars and keynote speeches began.
The main event, which takes place on Saturday 5 August and Sunday 6 August, will welcome a whole host of top and up-and-coming singers and musicians who will take to the main stage in Derby Square as part of the 2017 event.
Festival fans will be able to enjoy more than nine hours of amazing music on 5 August, and seven sizzling hours of top tunes on the second day of Liverpool Loves.
Saturday's line-up will be curated by The Guide Liverpool and SoulFest, and will run from 11am to 9pm. Sunday's programme will run from 11am to 7pm, hosted by The Rider Podcast with John Gibbons from The Anfield Wrap. Both days will feature a street food market and festivals bars - offering visitors a fun, friendly atmosphere reminiscent of an open-air European piazza.
The programme kicks off at lunchtime on 5 August with Liverpool Media Academy Future Stars, featuring performances from talented young musicians and dancers.
SoulFest takes over the action at 12.30pm, offering an exciting line-up of performances from Cherry V, Milo Tain, Raheem Alameen, LA Walkway, Halem, Mica Millar and Camilla Sky.
And from 5pm to 9pm it's the turn of The Guide Liverpool to programme the main stage. The music comes from Pixey, Delphina Kings and Sub Blue, with headliners yet to be announced.
On Sunday 6 August live music fans can enjoy a host of performances from noon to 7pm, courtesy of The Rider Podcast. Edgar Jones, Natalie McCool, Red Rum Club, The Shipbuilders, Stillia, Boston Shakers, The Protagonists, The Rackets, Ovvls and Joshua Hall are all set to perform.
This year Liverpool Loves will take place across two locations on two days, with Liverpool ONE recently announced as the second site.
The dual festival sites will continue to host everything which Liverpool Loves has become renowned for including family fun, culture, food and well-being.
Liverpool ONE will host a programme of family and community activities as part of the Wellbeing Zone across both Thomas Steers Way and Chavasse Park, creating a real oasis in the city-centre.
The Culturebox Stage on Thomas Steers Way will feature live entertainment on both days, which includes international community groups and choirs on the Saturday, and Sunday will feature a community dance programme featuring local dance schools from across Liverpool City Region - with lots more entertainment still to be revealed.
An incredible taster of the amazing musical talent on offer this year; be sure to keep a look out as organisers will be announcing headline acts to the line-up for both days in the coming weeks.
Liverpool Loves, organised by Orb CIC, is a celebration of all things Liverpool - with four core themes of business, culture, food and well-being showcasing the best of life in the region.
The festival has continued to go from strength to strength since its inaugural year in 2015 with an attendance of 27,000 visitors over three days. An audience of 40,000 attended the second event in 2016, and Orb CIC is now on a mission to continue to build on this success. It has previously been located at the Pier Head.
More programme details will be announced in the coming weeks.
