Little Angel Theatre announced today that it has formed a media partnership with Fun Kids Radio. The well-known London venue has been staging puppet shows for children of all ages since 1961. Fun Kids is the UK’s only radio station dedicated to children and their families. It is a mission of both companies to actively encourage creativity in children and their families. The media marriage will help each organisation to extend and enrich its young audience base, introducing puppetry to new audiences through learning opportunities and featured interviews with puppeteers and character puppets.

Little Angel is the only building based puppet theatre in London and has forged a reputation over 51 years of putting on a wide range of work for children from literally babyhood up to teenage. Huge emphasis is placed on involving the whole family and the theatre is now receiving second and third generation children whose parents and grandparents came to Little Angel. The children are also involved creatively with a wide range of puppet making and performing classes.

Fun Kids has 182,000 listeners each week and plays a mix of music, stories and competitions for the whole family every day on DAB Digital Radio in London, online at funkidslive.com and through the Radioplayer. From Breakfast with James and Robot every morning to pre-school fun with Giggle and then Luke welcoming the children home in the Club, Fun Kids caters for every age group throughout the day.

Lynette Shanbury, General Manager at Little Angel, revealed a few of the specific aspirations of this scheme:

“Fun Kids make the perfect puppet partner with Little Angel Theatre. Our continual mission in promoting and nurturing children’s engagement with the creative arts through puppetry is a fantastic match with the dedicated work Fun Kids Live create for children and their families. This partnership will see us actively promoting each other’s work, offering competitions for both our audiences and the chance for Fun Kids Live audiences to discover the magic of Little Angel Theatre. We look forward to building this relationship throughout the year, and hope that audiences at Little Angel will be tuning in online and through their digital radios to capture some of the Fun Kids highlights.”

Gregory Watson, Managing Director of Fun Kids said:

“We’re really excited to be working with Little Angel Theatre. For many years they have entertained children and parents with their puppetry and creative arts. We are pleased that by working with them on their future projects and bringing our two unique brands closer together we will be helping further promote the great work they do to an ever-growing audience.”
