Lazarus Theatre Company announces Shakespeare's violent and bombast history, Henry V in an all female production as the final offering in the yearlong celebration marking the 450th anniversary of the Bards birth. Cast to be announced. Adapted and directed by Ricky Dukes.
A new King is crowned, a new battle ignited. Henry leads her country from the court in London to the fields of France in a rapid and ferocious conquest; she is the pride and hope of England. Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George.'
Shakespeare's exquisite history play comes to the stage in this all female ensemble production through the use of text, movement and original music. A production that questions the role of women in modern warfare, the state of leadership and if we can ever truly be a United Kingdom.
Henry V marks the culmination of Lazarus Theatre's celebratory year commemorating the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth.
