The London Theatre Workshop is delighted to announce that it will host an exclusive Masterclass and Concert by American Musical Theatre composers Drew Fornarola and Scott Elmegreen to celebrate the UK Premiere of their musical 'Vote For Me: A Musical Debate' at the boutique Fulham theatre.
West End stars Rebecca Trehearn (Ghost, City of Angels), Jill Rensing (Les Miserables), Ceili O'Connor (Wizard of Oz, Elf), and Tom Kay (American Psycho) will bring the music of Fornarola and Elmegreen to a one-off concert, alongside the composers themselves.
Masterclass - Sat 16 May 2015
American musical theater writers Scott Elmegreen and Drew Fornarola offer students a masterclass in song performance and song interpretation, giving both technical and dramaturgical feedback.
Students sing from their audition repertoire, and the participants and Scott and Drew work together, through score and script analysis, to better understand the meaning of the song, the craft behind its construction, and how to communicate it to the audience. By unlocking the tools the composer is leveraging in the writing, the actor can have a deeper understanding of how to perform the song most effectively. They will also field questions about the business of musical theater creation and performance in New York City.
The class is open to performers, composers, and audience.
