The new UK and Ireland Tour of LET IT BE has opened in Cardiff to a standing ovation on the first performance - with the first night being a sell-out at the Wales Millennium Centre.
The smash hit West End show Let It Be: A Celebration Of The Music Of The Beatles is back with a brand new show, which had the audience on their feet throughout the performance.
The theatrical concert still includes the Fab Four's incredible back catalogue of iconic songs. But the new, updated show also highlights some of John, Paul, George and Ringo's solo material.
To mark the beginning of the tour, the first images of the new show have also been released.
The show is also different that it allows audiences to capture the show by taking photographs and video throughout the show, encouraging them to snap and share on social media, using the hashtag #LetItBeLive - extremely unique for a stage production.
This week is also special in Beatles' history as tomorrow (Thursday 23 August) marks 55 years since She Loves You was released as a single in the UK on 23 August 1963. While the following Sunday (30 August), Hey Jude hits its 50th anniversary milestone, half a decade since the UK single release on this date in 1968.
The run in Cardiff continues until this Saturday (25 August), before the show tours the UK and Ireland visiting the Everyman in Cheltenham; Liverpool Empire; Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall; the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin; New Theatre in Hull; Edinburgh's Playhouse Theatre; Orchard Theatre in Dartford; and Manchester' Opera House.
Act One takes audiences through the early days of the band as they embarked on their musical journey and onwards to the heights of Beatlemania. The historic Royal Variety Performance, Shea Stadium and those iconic Sergeant Pepper costumes all feature.
In a twist from the original Let It Be show, Act Two is set a decade after The Beatles went their separate ways. It gives fans a rare glimpse of how the Fab Four could have Come Together once again to perform.
The concert date is 9 October 1980, John Lennon's 40th Birthday - and it's the ultimate concert that never was. The band reunite for one night only, just Imagine.
The band's solo material featured includes Starting Over, Band On The Run, Black Bird, Got My Mind Set On You, My Sweet Lord, Live and Let Die, and Imagine.
A cast of talented musicians play the Fab Four. The performers have already toured the show to entertain on some of the biggest stages in the world including Broadway.
The Let It Be cast are Michael Gagliano from Woking (John Lennon); Emanuele Angeletti from Italy (Paul McCartney); Irish/Australian John Brosnan (George Harrison); and Ben Cullingworth, from Market Harborough in Leicestershire (Ringo Starr). The band will be joined on stage throughout the tour by musical director Michael Bramwell on keyboards.
Following the UK and Ireland Tour, the show heads to Europe and overseas, with the international tour taking in countries including Germany and North America. It is also hoped that the show will return to a London theatre in late 2018 or early 2019.
