LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) and the graduating MA Directing students will present a season of six plays, running in the Drama School's in-house theatres from 22 August - 6 September. As part of LAMDA's commitment to offer local residents increased access to the dramatic arts, half price tickets are available for Hammersmith & Fulham residents.

Graduating student Holly Reddaway will direct Zoe Cooper's coming-of-age tale Jess and Joe Forever, a story of navigating growing up, fitting in (or not), love, loneliness and most importantly friendship. Phoebe Simmonds will direct Sex with A Stranger by Stefan Golaszewski, which follows twenty-somethings Adam and Grace as they meet on a night out in an unconventional story of lust. The two productions will be performed in The Carne Studio Theatre on Thursday 22 August and Friday 23 August.

Running in The Linbury Studio on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 August will be This is Living, directed by Anna Clart. Liam Borrett's drama follows the relationship of Michael and Alice from beginning to its premature end. Theodora Tavener will direct Don DeLillo's wickedly funny Valparaiso which explores the hyper-reality of fame and the media's violation of private life.

Julia Levai will direct a radical and modern retelling of Heinrich Von Kleist's classic The Prince of Homburg, in a new version by Neil Bartlett. Set in the present day, with a gender-swapped lead, this production asks what we do when the reality around us becomes confusing and chaotic. Paspawisa Jewpattanagul will direct John Logan's Red, which follows abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko as he tries to finish a series of paintings while figuring his way out of the maze of art and life.

The MA Directing course is a thorough, practice-based vocational training for students with great potential as theatre directors and makers. The course is based on LAMDA's core ensemble values and is designed to support the development of each unique student director. Previous students on the MA Directing course have gone on to illustrious careers within the industry including 2019 Olivier Award nominee Rebecca Frecknall (Summer and Smoke, Almeida and West End; Three Sisters, Almeida), Tinuke Craig (The Colour Purple, UK Tour), Lisa Spirling (Describe the Night, Hampstead), Ned Bennett (Equus, Theatre Royal Stratford East). The MA Directing course is supported by The Carne Trust.
