Adventure into the unseen in a new multi-sensory encounter of shifting sound, colour and light as KlangHaus returns to the unsung spaces of Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall. KlangHaus 800 Breaths will further reinvent the gig-going experience as site-responsive, promenade theatre following last July's critically acclaimed sell out, KlangHaus: On Air.

Created by experimental art-rock collective The Neutrinos and visual artist Sal Pittman KlangHaus is a 360 degree maverick collision between noise, concealed sound and visual imagery. Akin to a duet with the room it's a thrilling ride that puts the audience right into the music itself, almost like being inside a vast video game.

KlangHaus is reinvented from its 2016 Southbank Centre incarnation, venturing into new spaces with new songs, new visuals and new themes - but maintaining the same clash of shifting sound, colour, electronica, improvisation and disorientation. Since its debut at The Edinburgh Fringe in 2014, each KlangHaus has been newly regenerated specifically for the space it is to be performed in, whether that was a former animal hospital, furniture repository, bus depot or gospel church.

Sal Pittman has created new visuals that also feature stills and film footage from previous incarnations of KlangHaus. See a short trailer to get a taste of the type of musical and visual treats in store for KlangHaus 800 Breaths from this short film from last year's KlangHaus: On Air or here from KlangHaus:4 Storey's in Norwich.

Neutrinos singer Karen Reilly said 'We are thrilled to commissioned by Southbank Centre again following the sell-out success of last year's KlangHaus:On Air. We will be expanding the space this year and we're inspired by the challenge of creating a new KlangHaus in familiar surroundings'. We have created 3 new KlangHaus events since last July and we shall use the experience gained from these to create a new experience for the Royal Festival Hall roof spaces and beyond. A new haunting, magical and inspirational ghost train for adults, putting the audience right inside the music'.

KlangHaus is a true crossover experience, equally attractive to music and theatre critics, introducing theatre to rock n' roll audiences and vice-versa as the drama of the promenade performance erupts into the dynamics of a full on loud rock show while also taking in the intimacy of a private acoustic 'house' concert.

The Neutrinos have spent the last 10 years in constant states of reinvention. They have released 3 albums, (with a 4th on the way) performed around the UK, northern Europe, Canada and the USA. Their music has been used for underground film soundtracks and throughout the feature length Channel 4 documentary The Trials of Amanda Knox.

Sal Pittman is an artist working with light, supergraphics, typography and montage in a seamless line between analogue and digital presentation. She creates visual representations of music, rich with tactile, off-kilter, unapologetic personality - her art direction and design work can be seen on promos and short films for record companies like 4AD and mute, including Grinderman, Can, Scott Walker/Sunn O))) and Daughter.
