The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus will arrive in Austin for SXSW in celebration of its twentieth anniversary, presenting a special showcase at The Belmont featuring Third Eye Blind on March 16th. SXSW fans will also enjoy performances by Bob Schneider, Muddy Magnolias, Royal Teeth, and Finland's Tuomo & Markus. The showcase is sponsored by Juniper Networks, Other World Computing (OWC) and founding sponsor Yamaha Corporation of America.

Fans of the Lennon Bus and its mission, Third Eye Blind will also be subjects of the latest episode of "Perspective," the Lennon Bus' student-produced short film series focusing on the career challenges of artists and professionals from all walks of life. Third Eye Blind is also celebrating the twentieth anniversary of their breakthrough self-titled release; their recollections of the early years will be included in the production. The project will feature the skills of students from the Austin Independent School District who will be working together under the guidance of the producer/engineers who live on-board the mobile production facility year-round. Having five previous albums to their credit, Third Eye Blind's most recent release, We Are Drugs, hit the iTunes charts' Top 5 for alternative records. The band won a Billboard Music Award for "Semi-Charmed Life," have had two American Music Awards nominations and several California Music Awards (Bammies) wins. The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus presented by Canon U.S.A. Inc. is a non-profit state-of-the-art mobile Pro Audio and HD video recording facility that provides hands-on experiences for students of all ages. In its 20th year of touring, the Lennon Bus features the latest audio and video technology, gear and products. The concept began as an offshoot of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, dedicated to providing opportunities for both professional and amateur songwriters around the world; proceeds from which help support the Lennon Bus. The Lennon Bus travels across the U.S. and Canada year-round, providing free tours and workshops at schools, retailers, festivals, on tours with headlining artists, and at major industry conferences.
