IF MUSIC be the food of love... it's going to be a romantic Valentine's month this February at The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury.

There'll be a range of music to delight many tastes. First up is much-loved band The Searchers (Monday 18 February), who are playing one final farewell tour before retiring.

With such classic hits as Sweets For My Sweet, Needles And Pins, Don't Throw Your Love Away, Sugar And Spice and When You Walk In The Room, The Searchers total record sales exceed 50 million. This farewell concert will include all their famous hits, album tracks and well-known favourites, as well as anecdotes and reminiscences of their remarkable career.

Next is Soul Legends With Special Guest Lemar (Tuesday 19 February). The winner of two Brit and three MOBO awards, Lemar has sold more than two million albums. He'll be taking the audience through his songs, including Dance (With You), If There's Any Justice, It's Not That Easy, The Way Love Goes, and If She Knew.

The night will include soul anthems such as Respect, Ain't Nobody, Knock On Wood, Midnight Hour, River Deep Mountain High, Ain't No Stopping Us Now, Beat It, Three Times A Lady, and Get Down On It.

For those with a more classical taste in music, there's the latest concert from The Marlowe's orchestra in residence, The Philharmonia. Gods And Mortals (Wednesday 20 February) features Bach and two pieces by Mozart, including the Jupiter symphony.

Away from music, there's comedy in Live At The Marlowe (Sunday 17 February). The line-up has been confirmed as Milton Jones, Spencer Jones, Simon Munnery, Kiri Pritchard-McLean and Jen Brister.
