Applications open today for seven 'Creative Director' posts to take charge of programming in The Old Vic Tunnels - a stunning performance space, which in the past year has housed work by Banksy, Punchdrunk and HighTide.

IdeasTap and Old Vic New Voices are setting the capital's emerging artists their biggest challenge to date: to fill the labyrinthine network of vaults and chambers beneath Waterloo Station with a dazzling programme of new music, dance, fashion, theatre, film, photography, comedy and more.

The 2-week programme, entitled 'Coming Up', will offer talented artists, aged between 18 and 30, the opportunity to develop their ideas, explode their network of contacts, collaborate with the best new creatives and produce a professional programme of work in February 2011.

'Coming Up' represents the latest project from a thriving collaboration between IdeasTap and Old Vic New Voices, which so far this year has produced The 24 Hour Plays: Old Vic New Voices, The TS Eliot US/UK Exchange and The Arden Project.

Kevin Spacey, Artistic Director at the Old Vic said

'The Old Vic Tunnels have been a massive success story for The Old Vic this year, and it's wonderful that we are now able to give over this space to the cream of London's emerging artists.  As a young artist, I would have jumped at the chance to get involved with this sort of project as building relationships with your peers is vital to growing your career.'

Peter De Haan, Chief Executive of IdeasTap added

'Funding and opportunities for emerging creative artists are at the heart of IdeasTap. Coming Up is IdeasTap's biggest and most ambitious project yet. It's a unique opportunity because this time young talent are joining the board of creative directors. As always we'll be putting our money where our mouth is to provide all the resources and creative and logistical support needed, but the exciting thing about this project is that it's up to the young creative directors to make this project a success.'
