Iain Mitchell and Gregory Gudgeon Join TRAVELS WITH MY AUNT

On the day that rehearsals commence for its forthcoming production of Travels with My Aunt, the Menier Chocolate Factory is delighted to announce that Iain Mitchell and Gregory Gudgeon will be joining the previously confirmed cast members, David Bamber and Jonathan Hyde. Adapted for the stage by Giles Havergal and directed by Christopher Luscombe, the production has a strictly limited 8 week season, 2nd May to 29th June.

Iain Mitchell's theatre credits include La Cage aux Folles (Menier Chocolate Factory and West End), Birdsong (Comedy), and Richard II (Old Vic); and at the National - Henry IV parts 1 & 2, His Dark Materials, Stuff Happens, Edmond, Henry V, Mother Clap's Molly House, The Coast of Utopia, Albert Speer, Flight, Chips With Everything, Marat/Sade and The Madness of George III.

Gregory Gudgeon recently played Fabian in Equally Divided and Calvinu in Time of My Life (Watford Palace), Osiric in Hamlet (Prague Shakespeare Festival) and Donald in Blue Remembered Hills (Chichester).

David Bamber's theatre credits include Sweet Smell of Success (Arcola); Betty Blue Eyes (Novello), Absurd Person Singular (Garrick), Otherwise Engaged (Criterion); The Merchant of Venice (National), and My Night With Reg (Royal Court). On television he has been seen in The Paradise, The Hollow Crown, Borgias and Psychoville. Films include Miss Potter, The Railway Children, Neville's Island, My Night with Reg and High Hopes.

Jonathan Hyde's theatre credits include Jumpers, Sleep With Me, The Duchess of Malfi (National), King Lear, The Seagull, Romeo & Juliet (RSC), The King's Speech (UK Tour & West End), Peter Pan (Kensington Gardens, O2, San Francisco & Orange County), Les Liasions Dangereuses (Ambassadors) and Antigone (Old Vic). On television he has been seen in Foyle's War, Spooks and The Queen while his film credits include Tailor of Panama, The Mummy, Titanic, Anaconda, Jumanji and Richie Rich.

Christopher Luscombe's recent productions include Spamalot (currently at The Playhouse), The Madness of George III (Apollo), When We Are Married (Garrick) and Enjoy (Gielgud).

In this anarchic comedy adapted from the novel by Graham Greene, four actors play a host of character in the story of retired bank manager Henry Pulling, and his globetrotting adventures with his Aunt Augusta. From Paris to Istanbul to Paraguay, the unlikely pair journey together discovering colourful characters and the possibilities that life conjures up in the most unusual of places.

The production will be designed by Colin Falconer with lighting design by Oliver Fenwick, sound design by Gregory Clarke and original music by Malcolm McKee.
