Alexandra Dowling (The Three Musketeers - BBC1, Game of Thrones - HBO), Vicky Binns (Coronation Street - ITV, Emerdale - ITV) and David Schaal (The Office - BBC2, The Inbetweeners - Channel 4) lead the cast of J B Priestley's disturbing and disorientating psychological drama, I Have Been Here Before at Jermyn Street Theatre this May.
Exploring precognition and the fluidity of time and pitting fate against free will, I Have Been Here Before sets up a strange confrontation between real events and their alternatives to create a supernatural tale of mystery and suspense. Along with Time and The Conways and Dangerous Corner, the 1937 work is one of Priestley's "time plays" inspired by Russian mathematician and mystic P D Ouspensky's theories that whatever happens has already occurred many times and will do so again.
A group of strangers are brought together in a remote inn on the Yorkshire moors. Startled by the arrival of an unexpected guest, they soon discover that all their lives are inextricably linked, and a decision by any one of them could have profound consequences for them all. Gradually the mysterious visitor reveals that perhaps they are not strangers at all and everything that is happening now has all happened before...
I Have Been Here Before is directed by Jermyn Street Theatre's artistic director Anthony Biggs and brings together Alexandra Dowling, Vicky Binns and David Schaal in a cast that also includes Edward Halsted and Daniel Souter.
I Have Been Here Before follows I Loved Lucy -
