Fans of comedy classics will adore this live version of radio sitcom, Hancock's Half Hour, which heads to Theatre Royal Winchester on Sunday 24 March.
In 1954 Tony Hancock burst on to the airwaves with a brand new style of comedy the British public had never heard before: the sitcom. He played a less successful version of himself and performed with fellow comedy legends including Sid James, Hattie Jacques and Kenneth Williams.
Hancock's Half Hour - written by young up-and-comers, Ray Galton and Alan Simpson, who later created Steptoe and Son - redefined radio comedy, and after 65 years of the show making audiences roar with laughter, Apollo Theatre Company brings to the stage, three classic episodes.
With a cast featuring James Hurn (TV's Deadringers) as Tony Hancock, and Colin Elmer (Round the Horne) as Kenneth Williams, this live stage show comes from the producers of the critically acclaimed tour of another radio classic, The Goon Show.
Hancock's Half Hour will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on Sunday 24 March. To find out more, or to book, visit www.theatreroyalwinchester.co.uk or call the Box Office on 01962 840 440.
