An all-star cast is set to visit the Belgrade Theatre this autumn in Emlyn William's psychological thriller, Night Must Fall. Running on the Main Stage from Weds 28 Sept - Sat 1 Oct as part of a UK tour, the cast will include British stage and screen actress Gwen Taylor as Mrs Bransom.

Penned by master playwright Emlyn Williams, Night Must Fall has all the tension, atmosphere and suspense of the best British mysteries and will leaving audiences on The Edge of their seat.

When charming, smooth-talking Dan arrives unexpectedly at old Mrs Bramson's remote woodland home he soon ingratiates his way into her life and that of her beautiful niece Olivia. But when a local woman goes missing and rumours in the press of a murder surface among the household, fingers begin to point. Has the past finally caught up with Dan and could he really be capable of murder? As the police close in, and with the press baying for blood, is anyone safe?

Leading the cast in the role of Mrs Bransom is Gwen Taylor, best-known for appearing in TV dramas such as Barbara, Coronation Street and Heartbeat. She will appear on stage alongside Daragh O'Malley (Sharpe) as Inspector Belsize, Niamh McGrady (Holby City and The Fall) as Olivia and Will Featherstone (Romeo and Juliet for Shakespeare's Globe, The History Boys for Sheffield Crucible and Channel 4's Fresh Meat) as Dan.

First written and performed over 80 years ago, Night Must Fall enjoyed immediate success in the West End, running for over 400 performances. Proving such a hit with audiences and critics alike, the play was adapted for the big screen in 1939 and again in 1964, starring Albert Finney and Sheila Hancock. Now in 2016, the classic murder-mystery will be thrilling audiences all over again when it embarks on a brand-new UK tour this autumn.

This new adaptation will be brought to the stage Original Theatre Company who last visited the Belgrade in 2015 with their adaptation of Terence Rattigan's Flare Path.

Night Must Fall will be directed by Luke Sheppard and designed by David Woodhead, with sound and music by Harry Blake and lighting by Howard Hudson. The national tour is produced by Alastair Whatley and Tom Hackney for The Original Theatre Company and Sebastian Warrack for Salisbury Playhouse, in association with Eastbourne Theatres.

Tickets for Night Must Fall are available now priced from £15. To book, visit www.belgrade.co.uk or call the Belgrade's friendly Box Office team on 024 7655 3055.
