Interval Productions presents the new musical MUTED. Greg Oliver (pictured, left) will join Ashleigh Gray, Steven Webb, Andy Coxon, Liam Doyle and Tori Allen-Martin to record the album and perform at the showcase launch tonight, 4th February.

Interval's Kickstarter for the album hit the 50 percent funded mark in record time -- just 48 hours after launch -- revealing the strong support behind this piece. Get involved for some great rewards at www.kickstarter.com/projects/1937765734/muted-the-album.

Greg Oliver, whose music (under the name Revilo) is currently making waves on the UK music scene, will play the character of Jake who gets to sing the soaring Tim Prottey-Jones favourite - 'Down Flew the Doves'. Revilo has recently been noted as an 'artist to watch' in 2016 by journalists at Camels and Lions and the guys at About to Blow have highly recommended his recent track Apathy. The team behind MUTED are passionate about updating the sound of traditional musical theatre and Greg will bring a fantastic edge with his vocals.

Ashleigh Gray has just finished starring as Elphaba in the UK tour of Wicked. Steven Webb, having spent a year with the Lyric Hammersmith's Secret Theatre can currently be seen at the National Theatre in I Want My Hat Back. Liam Doyle has been playing Sam in the world tour of Ghost and Any Coxon is fresh out of Beautiful in the West End. Tori Allen-Martin, who also wrote a lot of the lyrics for MUTED, has just been featured on Idris Elba's mi Mandela album with Maverick Sabre.

The music is written by the fantastic Tim Prottey-Jones, who's recent album 'To Do, To Be' (on which Tori wrote a lot of the lyrics) was described by West End Frame as "an exceptional collection of material" stating that "new British writing just got exciting again". The concert version of the show will be directed by up-and-coming director Jamie Jackson, who recently directed the concert version of musical 'The Natives' for the Old Vic New Voices and was nominated for an Off West End award for Best Director for his show 'WINK' at Theatre 503. Simon Lambert will be joining the team as MD.

Interval Productions have become well known for shaking up the form of musical theatre and bringing it up to date, having created four brand new multi-award-nominated musicals in four years. Most recently their show 'Streets' - nominated for Offies for Best New Musical and Most Promising Playwrights (Sarah Henley and Tori Allen-Martin) transferred to the Hackney Empire and The Vaults.

An earlier draft of MUTED, entitled 'After the Turn', previewed at The Courtyard Theatre in 2012 with a sell-out run in which it was dubbed as "the British Rent" by Mark Shenton for The Stage, and "a beautiful unique production" by Backstage Pass.

After the Turn received a BroadwayWorld nomination for Best Fringe or Regional Musical and a What's On Stage Award nomination for Best New Musical. It has since been re-written, re-titled and developed with a West End cast ready to share with you on the album and live with the script as well at the showcase launch on the 4th February.

The Launch is a co-production with Iris Theatre and is being held at the Actors' Church on the 4th February, with performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are £12 and £10 for concessions and are available here: iristheatre.com/event/muted. The Actor's Church is located at Bedford St, London WC2E 9ED.
