Wolverhampton Grand Theatre recently announced that as a business one of their focuses is to be plastic free by 2022. They have joined forces with major sponsors cutlery firm Arthur Price, who have donated environmentally friendly gifts for the children who are picked to participate in this year's Grand Theatre pantomime SLEEPING BEAUTY which runs from 8 December 2018 - 13 January 2019.
Every year, three to four children are chosen at random to participate in the "Song Sheet", a pantomime tradition at each performance. This year they will receive a bambino child's dining set, which is made purely from bamboo.
In line with strong customer opinion and demand for environmentally friendly product, British cutlery and gift company Arthur Price have launched this new range of children's dining sets. The Bambino range consists of a colourful plate, bowl, mug, knife and fork set and is aimed at children aged 4-8. It is very much 'in vogue', especially after the BBC TV programme Blue Planet II highlighted how much plastic is polluting our seas. Furthermore, the Government recently announced a plan to eradicate all avoidable plastic waste.
Bambino is made from bamboo fibre which is more durable than wood, is heat and stain resistant. As one of the fastest-growing plants in the world it is an endlessly renewable resource - growing new shoots from its root-system after being harvested. It thrives naturally without using any pesticides or fertilizers, takes in greenhouse gasses and produces 35% more oxygen than the equivalent trees. All items are 100% biodegradable and the packaging is 100% recycled. There are four designs to choose from, all are dishwasher proof and are available now at arthurprice.com priced at £14.95 each.
Simon Price, Arthur Price CEO said: "This range will add lots of colour to any dinner table and we believe will encourage children to use cutlery during meal times. All the pieces and packaging are eco-friendly in line with growing customer expectations, and we are delighted with this in-vogue range. We are also delighted to support the theatre once again with their vision to promote sustainability"
