For anyone who has ever been to St George's Hall and wished they could explore the nooks and crannies that aren't normally open to the public, will now have the perfect opportunity when The Footman Tours return this March.

Initially launched as a one-off event at the venue in August 2016, but due to huge public demand they were extended until the end of October 2016.

Now the popular tours are back for 2017 and set to be open as a regular attraction commencing from Saturday 4 March.

The tours will take place every weekend with two tours each Saturday and Sunday at 11am and 1pm.

Visitors are once again invited to discover the magnificent Grade I listed building's hidden depths and unseen places - from the old rickety wooden structures of the dark corridors above The Great Hall, to the recently discovered lost tunnel.

Join the Hall's time-travelling footmen, dressed in Restoration costume who will lead the tour while entertaining and engaging their audience with fascinating stories about the development of the city dating back to the 1600s and bring to light the mysterious tales of what truly lies beneath our feet.

The Footman Tours are certain to captivate the curiosity of those who love to delve below the surface of Liverpool's fascinating and mysterious past, and are a must see for anyone interested in the hidden history of the city.

It is by far, the most exciting journey through the city's history and an exciting expedition through the hidden areas of the building!

St George's Hall manager, Alan Smith said: "I am really delighted that we are able to now launch the Footman Tours as a regular feature at St George's Hall. The tour has a wonderful sense of mystery and unveils all the secrets from the building and city's incredible history and undiscovered heritage. When we trialled it last August we had a fantastic response and I knew that it was something the public would really love, so I am certain they will be a welcome return."

Each tour will run for 1hr 30mins after which guests can enjoy a Footman Afternoon Tea Package in the Heritage Centre and enjoy the atmosphere and hospitality in one of Liverpool's most prized possessions.

Please note, this is not an average walking tour and you will require a level of fitness and agility as you weave your way through the steep and narrow passageways, the rickety roof top structures and the long winding staircases.
