The preliminary round of the 2015 Principality Building Society Welsh Musical Theatre Young Singer Of The Year was held at Gowerton School, Swansea on Saturday February 14. Twenty talented young vocalists performed songs from shows reflecting the entire gamut of musical theatre repertoire, including vintage selections from Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel and Rodgers and Hart's Babes In Arms to contemporary numbers from Adam Gwon's Ordinary Days and Kerrigan and Lowdermilk's Henry And Mudge!
A trio of judges (Vivien Care, Clare Hammacott and Michael Morewood) took on the difficult task of choosing four finalists for the competition and the quartet they selected were: Melissa Bayern, Jodi Alexandra Bird, Caitlin McKee and Tom Richards.
