There will be no such thing as cabin fever this Spring Bank Holiday weekend as the New Brighton Seaside Festival has family fun all sewn up with an amazing line-up of entertainment which will keep children of all ages amused throughout the weekend.

Festival organisers Orb Events have created a children's stage in the Little Seasiders' Marquee, which will host a whole raft of fun activities and entertainment to keep the kids amused whilst mum and dad can enjoy a great day.

The fun will start at 10am through until 8pm on Saturday and Sunday 27 and 28 May, and 10am until 6pm on Monday 29 May.

Single day tickets are priced at £3 for children, and £5 for adults. Or a full weekend pass is £6 for children and £12 for adults - excellent value for money for an action-packed programme of family fun activities.

Who doesn't like a good sing-along? Give your child's vocal chords a good work-out with the guys from Live Fairy Tales, who will start the day with their Seaside Madness sessions. The gang are professional cruise ships entertainers and have been amusing children on the high seas for many years.

Watch out for the Egg Roulette, Build a Sandcastle Competition and Octopus Post Box Challenge to name but a few of the interactive games that are on offer. The guys will also be hosting throughout the day and going up against each other in the presenters' challenge - so make sure you go along check it out.

Keeping the musical theme going, Johnny and the Raindrops will be entertaining little rock stars with their family-friendly live band who have been entertaining the UK and beyond since 2008. Their 'gigs for cool kids' have thrilled audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe, scores of festivals and hundreds of parties, gigs and events across the UK.

Songs from the band's seven albums are brought to life with costumes, props, and a whole heap of help from the audience. Future little rock stars can get onstage with guitars, tambourines and shakers. Expect teddy bears flying through the air, kids in vegetable costumes disco dancing, punk rock pogoing, pirate lessons, a parent-child rockabilly dance off and much more.

The band's upbeat life-affirming songs encourage children's participation in music. BBC Radio described the show as: "Infectious, joyous fun...packed with feel-good songs...perfect for a family audience."

We all love a bit of comedy and your budding Peter Kays can exercise their chuckle muscles at The Funny Looking Kids Comedy Club who will be bundling themselves across the River Mersey like the Pirates they aspire to be!

Funny Looking is a Comedy Club with an alternative twist. They bring the best of the weird, the wonderful, the different the delightful. The fools, idiots and vagabonds that make up the regular crew of the monthly Funny Looking Kids: Comedy Club will clamber ashore at the New Brighton Seaside Festival so expect comedy, sketches, quizzes, chaos, noise, prizes, silliness and smells.

Have you got a mini master chef in the family? On Sunday 28 May, New Brighton Seaside Festival hosts the fantastic Junior Chefs Academy in the Chefs Theatre to bring you a fantastic line up of sessions designed to get our little seasiders cooking up a storm.

Have you ever wondered how pirates keep their food fit for eating without the use of refrigerators or freezers? This and many other questions will be answered as JCA deliver a series of six fun and informative sessions throughout the day. The sessions are free to attend so just turn up and register. Each child will get to cook a tasty dish and will also receive a chef's hat and apron to take home!

Unicorns, alpacas and creepy crawlies are set to thrill and chill our audience over the festival weekend. Who wouldn't want to have a selfie with a unicorn or feed the alpacas? Working with the Wirral-based Ramazon Princess Parties and Chester Exotic Animals, New Brighton Seaside Festival has created an opportunity for its audience to get up close with some fantastic animals! Little Seasiders can brave the Creepy Crawlie Show featuring snakes, skunks and a whole load of creatures to give you the shivers or transport themselves to rainbow filled wonderland where unicorns really exist.

That's not all! With a children's disco and activities from Evolution parties and some amazing performances from the local powerhouse of dance Funkstar Dance who will be joining the Festival on Saturday afternoon with a performance that will knock your socks off, the varied and interactive family programme is guaranteed to put a spring in your step over the Bank Holiday break.

Other performances are planned throughout the weekend to keep the fun going with fantastic local organisations such as Wirral School of Dance, Superstarz Parties and a few special surprises...
