EIFF Announces 2012's BEST OF THE FEST

Edinburgh International Film Festival today announced the line-up for Best of the Fest on Sunday 1 July.

Offering another opportunity for audiences to catch some of the cinematic gems from the previous 11 days, Best of the Fest exemplifies the variety and scale of the Festival’s programme.

Family audiences can start the school holidays and avoid the rain with another chance to get a sneak peak at Disney-Pixar’s BRAVE (11:00) which can be a double-bill with DR SEUSS’ THE LORAX (13:15), both playing at Cineworld.

Also showing at Cineworld throughout the day will be: FLICKER (12:10); 7 DAYS IN HAVANA (12:20); BORROWED TIME (12:30); FRED (14:20); DAY OF THE FLOWERS (14:30); JACKPOT (14:50); LIFE JUST IS (16:00); THE IMPOSTER (16:25); FUTURE MY LOVE (16:25); GRABBERS (16:45); CALIFORNIA SOLO (18:15); AND IF WE ALL LIVED TOGETHER?(18:30); BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO (18:45); SHADOW DANCER (18:55); GUINEA PIGS (20:30); DRAGON (WU XIA) (20:45) and PUSHER (21:00).

Filmhouse will host two Best of the Fest screenings: GOD BLESS AMERICA at 11:15 and RENT-A-CAT at 20:30, alongside the previously programmed Festival films showing throughout the day.

The Centre for the Moving Image (CMI) was founded in 2010 with a vision to be at the forefront of film and the moving image in Scotland. The CMI currently comprises the EIFF, Edinburgh Filmhouse and Edinburgh Film Guild and its aim is to lead, inspire, educate and entertain in the moving image space. The CMI is currently developing an ambitious plan to create new businesses and initiatives in Scotland related to film thought and practice.
