Offering the only opportunity at this year's Fringe to see the work of one of America's most compelling contemporary dramatists; actress, dancer, choreographer and recent RADA Directing graduate C Jay Ranger directs Neil La Bute's The Shape of Things.

Tortured by questions of sex, virtue and brutality, La Bute is a fierce moralist. In The Shape of Things, one of his best-known works, he uses his unique voice to explore the depths we reach and the price we pay for love, for art.

Bemused and amused by what human beings are prepared to do to one another, this black comedy flags up the grey areas between right and wrong where most of us reside.

With a young, vibrant, international cast and a dynamic soundtrack from rock/hip-hop hybrid artists Slam Cartel and singer Ella Edmonson, SPL is proud to present The Shape of Things at C venue 34.

C Jay Ranger's directing credits include Top Cat the Musical, which she also wrote, the UK tour of the Rod Stewart musical Tonight's the Night, work on comedian Steve Coogan's recent tour, and assisting on the treble Tony Award-winning production of God of Carnage.
