Digital Theatre, the world's leading digital on-demand platform for the performing arts, has announced the recruitment of acclaimed theatre and performance studies publisher Talia Rodgers.

Talia commissioned titles for academic publisher Routledge for over 20 years, and joins Digital Theatre as it pioneers a new era of performing arts education. Digital Theatre provides access to productions and curriculum-mapped educational content to over 3 million students from schools, colleges and universities, across 190 countries.

The move signals a commitment by Digital Theatre to redefine arts education for the digital age, enabling teachers to inspire students with learning resources created by leading arts practitioners and academics.

As Publisher at Routledge, Talia collaborated with Digital Theatre to design and build the Routledge Performance Archive, an award-winning online collection of audio-visual materials for teaching and research. Out of that partnership came a working relationship which makes her new role as Publishing Director at Digital Theatre a logical progression.

Speaking about the move, Talia said: "I'm thrilled to be joining Digital Theatre at such an exciting stage in its development. It's a visionary company committed to innovation and dedicated to widening access to all forms of performance. I relish the opportunity to develop a publishing programme alongside their world-class footage of live theatre and educational materials."

Talia joins Creative Director and Co-Founder Robert Delamere and Creative Content Producer Fiona Lindsay to lead the Digital Theatre team, forming a unique and knowledgeable union and enabling Digital Theatre to realise the vision of transforming performing arts education.

Chairman of Digital Theatre, Justin Cooke, commented: "For me Talia's position at Digital Theatre signifies two worlds converging - today's social, mobile, digital world and the world of print in academia. This is a natural evolution in performing arts education, and we're extremely excited about the opportunities for future developments which having Talia's immense experience and wealth of knowledge on board presents."
