DeadAnt presents Noel Coward's 'Still Life', as part of the season of Lunchbox performances at Fleet Street's Bridewell Theatre.

Noel Coward's Still Life, from his series 'Tonight at 8:30', famously forms the basis of the classic 1946 film Brief Encounter. Coward himself, along with Gertrude Lawrence, performed in the 1936 production of the piece and 'Still Life' has been the subject of several revivals. In 2008 the film and play were successfully adapted for the stage by Kneehigh Theatre.

DeadAnt return to Coward's original text to bring this heartstring-tugging tale to the City at Lunchtimes. The Bridewell Theatre will be transformed into the fictional Milford Junction Station tearoom, serving as the setting for the lives and loves of three couples in 1936.

Cast: Cathy Conneff, Ross Hatt, Elizabeth Johansen, Alice Knapton, Jean Perfkins, James Powell, Anthony Wise.

Running from 19th June to 6th July 2012, Tuesday to Friday at 13.00. Bring your lunch, rustle your packaging, and escape the dramas of the office this lunchtime.

The Bridewell Theatre since 2005 has been home to Lunchbox, a bite-sized performance slot where local City workers can bring their own food and drink and enjoy a forty-five minute performance, satisfying the mind as well as the appetite.

DeadAnt formed in 2011. Founded by actor and director James Williams, DeadAnt aims to combat the decline in repertory theatre in the UK, it also hopes to provide a platform for new and emerging artists in all media, and encourage more people to participate in the arts. Initially dedicated to reviving forgotten or rarely performed plays and scores, this production of 'Still Life' marks an escalation in output by presenting an incredibly famous work and is their most ambitious production to date. Since September 2011, DeadAnt have produced two comedies at the Bridewell Theatre penned by Georges Feydeau. 'A Woman of the World' & 'Don't Walk About With Nothing On' have both been very well received by audiences and critics alike.
