DREAMBOATS AND PETTICOATS arrives at the Lyceum Theatre to take audiences on a trip down music's memory lane from tonight, Monday 16 to Saturday 21 July.
Inspired by the extraordinary success of the multi-million selling albums the Dreamboats and Petticoats Musical comes to Sheffield to delight audiences with its nostalgic look back at the 1960s, an era when love was young and so was rock 'n' roll.
Bringing added X-Factor to the musical are Scott Bruton, X Factor's series five finalist who joins the tour direct from the West End where he wowed audiences and critics alike with his vocal talent in the role of Bobby. Scott is joined by last year's X Factor contestant Terry Winstanley, who plays Bobby's older self.
Scott and Terry join the hugely talented cast of Dreamboats and Petticoats to perform hits by rock 'n' roll royalty Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury and Chuck Berry. Songs include Let's Dance, To Know Him Is To Love Him, Shaking All Over, Bobby's Girl, Little Town Flirt, Only Sixteen, Sleepwalk, Runaround Sue, Happy Birthday Sweet 16, What A Wonderful World, Let's Twist Again, Let It Be Me and many more.
Written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the team behind Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds of a Feather and Shine On Harvey Moon, this spectacular feel-good production takes you back to 1961. The story follows young musicians Norman and Bobby as they compete to win a national song writing competition and, more importantly, the attention of the gorgeous Sue. When Bobby discovers that shy Laura is no slouch on the piano, love and rock 'n' roll fame beckon.
Tickets for Dreamboats and Petticoats are on sale now from Sheffield Theatres' Box Office, priced £19.00 - £31.00. Call 0114 249 6000 or visit sheffieldtheatres.co.uk to book.
