DINOSAUR WORLD LIVE Brings Roar-some Puppetry To The Belgrade Theatre Image

Following the roaring success of last year's national tour, the spectacular Dinosaur World Live is back by popular demand, heading to the Belgrade Theatre Coventry on 28 and 29 May.

Using large-scale puppetry to stunning effect, this interactive family show offers an experience like no other, transporting audiences back in time to the wilds of prehistory for a life-like encounter with the creatures who once ruled the earth.

Prepare to get up close and personal with Triceratops, Microraptor, Segnosaurus and Giraffatitan as paleontologists' daughter Miranda introduces her favourite prehistoric pals - but beware! Not every dino is a docile one, and if you're lucky, you might just meet the flesh-eating giant Tyrannosaurus Rex!

Each performance is followed by a post-show meet and greet with the dinosaurs, promising a roar-some experience that the kids will never forget!

Writer and director Derek Bond said: "It's an inspirational show - it fires the imagination, and teaches you things you might not know about famous dinosaurs like T-rex and triceratops, but also introduces you to dinosaurs you might not have heard of like microraptor and segnosaurus. My hope is that audiences will come out desperate to know more about dinosaurs, and with their imaginations working on all cylinders."

Written and directed by Derek Bond (Sweet Charity and Little Shop of Horrors, Manchester Royal Exchange; The Christmasaurus, Hammersmith Apollo) for Nicoll Entertainment, this dino-mite production stars Lucy Varney as Miranda alongside puppeteers Romina Hytten, Darcy Collins, Gary Mitchinson, Peter Twose and Emily Cooper.

Puppet design is by Max Humphries (National Theatre, Royal Opera House, Cirque du Soleil), and puppet direction is by Laura Cubitt (Running Wild, Chichester Festival Theatre; Don Quixote, RSC; War Horse, NT Berlin), with Toby Olié (War Horse, Elephantom, Peter Pan, The Light Princess and Handsel & Gretel, National Theatre) as puppetry consultant. Set and costume design is by James Perkins, lighting is by John Maddox and sound is by Tom Mann.

With demand for tickets growing faster than a T-Rex, some performances are already sold out, so dino-fans are encouraged to book early before opportunities become extinct!

Dinosaur World Live shows at the Belgrade Theatre Coventry on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 May and is recommended for children aged 3 and up. Tickets are available to book now by calling the box office on 024 7655 3055 or visiting www.belgrade.co.uk where prices are cheaper.
