The Cosmic Shambles Network are back with a bang this Autumn with another three months of inspirational and entertaining digital and live events for people with curious minds.

October kicks off with the live streaming on The Cosmic Shambles Network of Avery Broderick's lecture about the Event Horizon Telescope. The telescope is the result of the connection of selected telescopes from across the globe that will, together, be able to help us to discover far more about the borders of black holes than we ever have in the past.

Book Shambles episodes for October include a special two part episode of Robin's chat with Barney Farmer and Alan Moore on 4th October. The tables will then be turned on Robin when he is interviewed by Josie for a very special episode in which he will be talking about his new book, I'm a Joke and So Are You, which is published this month. Forthcoming episodes include chats with Ian Rankin, Neil Gaiman, Helen Zaltzman and Mark Watson.

The month also sees the launch of Robin Ince's new book I'm A Joke And So Are You, which looks into what makes Comedians (and the rest of us) do what we do. To celebrate the launch The Cosmic Shambles Network will be hosting a special event at King's Place at the beginning of November with Robin and some very special guests including Josie Long, Grace Petrie, Stewart Lee and Philippa Perry.

Some great new video content has now been added to the site. Watch Robin as he desperately tries to clear from his home some of the books that he has collected over the years (imagine Sophie's Choice for bibliophiles!). Also, available now is the final episode of Ginny Smith's exclusive series of science cookery short films with leading New Zealand scientist, Dr Michelle Dickinson whose new book The Kitchen Science Cookbook was recently published.

On 6th October Robin will be hosting Book Shambles Live at the Ilkley Literary Festival where he will be chatting to Jeremy Dyson of The League of Gentlemen and Ghost Stories fame.

Later in the month on 12th October, The Cosmic Shambles team will be returning to QEDCon to host another edition of the hugely popular QED Friday Night Quiz. This year's theme is Space. Robin will also be hosting a special Book Shambles Live edition from QED on 13th October with writer and broadcaster Sue Nelson and other special guests. Also, during the weekend, Cosmic Shambles Co-Director Trent Burton will be in conversation with J WiIlgoose Esq, the creative talent behind the band Public Service Broadcasting who recently participated in the hugely successful Space Shambles at the Royal Albert Hall. Their conversation will be available as an exclusive podcast on The Network later in the year.

Robin will then go on to the Manchester Science Festival for another edition of Book Shambles Live on 22nd October where, along with co-host Professor Sophie Scott, he will be chatting to Psychologist and Author Professor Charles Fernyhough.

The Blog Network continues to grow from strength to strength with new material from popular writers including Robin Ince, Dr Dean Burnett, Prof Jon Butterworth, Dr Brenna Hassett, Ginny Smith and Chris Hadfield.

In December to round off the year with a festive nod The Network will once again be presenting Robin Ince's seasonal variety show 9 Lessons and Carols for Curious People, over 4 nights at Kings Place. Robin will be joined across the dates by a wonderfully eclectic mix of guests from the worlds of science and entertainment for these legendary shows.
