Multi award-winning circus spectacular Barnum rolls into town from Tuesday 7 - Saturday 11 April at the Lyceum Theatre, starring stage and television favourite, Brian Conley and West End leading lady Linzi Hateley.
This exhilarating musical tells the story of larger-than-life Phineas T Barnum, the self proclaimed Greatest Showman on Earth, who's irrepressible imagination lit up the world with colour, warmth and excitement. A smash-hit on Broadway, Barnum scooped three Tony Awards on opening and has continued to wow audiences throughout the world.
Brian Conley stars as PT Barnum and has undergone months of circus training for the role, learning to walk the tightrope, eat fire, juggle and walk on stilts! One of the country's most versatile TV and stage actors, Brian has appeared in a number of hugely successful musicals, most recently starring as Fagin in the national tour of Cameron Mackintosh's production of Oliver! He also originated the role of American icon, Al Jolson in Jolson, for which he won an Olivier Award. On television he is best known for playing Doug Digby in The Grimleys and his ITV show The Brian Conley Show.
Award-winning actress Linzi Hateley co-stars as Barnum's wife, Chairy. Most recently seen in the National Theatre's hit production of London Road, she also originated the role of Mrs Banks in the Disney and Cameron Mackintosh production of Mary Poppins and was nominated for an Olivier Award for her role as The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
With a sensationally talented cast of dancers, singers and circus performers and a wonderfully exuberant score including The Colours of My Life, There Is A Sucker Born Ev'ry Minute and the show-stopping Come Follow The Band, Barnum is a treat for all the family.
